New enviroment study!

A couple days ago, Dave noticed that my tires were very, very, very worn out and said that I should replace them for safety. He was right because my rear-left tire was a "slick"... I coudn't see any treads!! Very bad.. So when I went to Stockton with Jan for the weekend his dad was very kind to take me to All American Tires to help me get a deal. Jan's dad ended up bargaining tires for $244.00 for 4 tires. I thought it was a good deal to me and purchased them :). While waiting for them to install them, Jan, his dad, and I waited at McDonalds. Alas, a time to sketch another environment!

More to come! :)

A Glimpse into the PAST!

As some people may know I'm moving very very soon from my old place in Milpitas to an apartment close by campus in San Jose. While packing I discovered a lot of old drawings. A few stood out as I remembered them as favorites and I decided to post them up!

Done in 2005, I was very much into World of Warcraft which influenced me to draw this. I like the attention to detail (which was influenced by Hyung Tae Kim's artwork) that I forget nowadays.

Done in 2005. This drawing stood out because I didn't realize until I saw this drawing that my previous Boy From The Digital World was actually influenced by this original drawing I did a long time ago. Funny too, that this old drawing is much more carefully drawn than the one I did much later. I didn't even realize I was drawing an old character!

Date unknown, but I know this is around 2005 as well, because this was done much before I attended San Jose State University. I used to draw stuff more like this, as an expirement, and wanted to pursue it more as a different and unique style. I have a more drawings similar to this style, but found that this is the most successful one.

Well, that's it for now! More NEW drawings to come! Hehe :)

Another environment study!

Jake, Renee, and I met up and had lunch at Gordon Biersch today. Afterwards we walked around and ended up drawing in front of the San Jose Museum of Art. I thought the castle looking building seemed pretty cool. Anyways, another environmental study and a great time with my friends :).

Time to update :)

I went to Santana Row to get some supplies and drop by Best Buy to buy 'Extras Season 1'. While awaiting either Paul or Jake's phone call to possibly go sketching I drew this cool building towards the front of Santana Row. There's so many cool buildings I can draw here! Next time I'll get a portable chair so I can get cool angles with every building! Next up, the other end of the Borders building, then the front of it! Gotta do more and more perspective studies!! :D

This is a quick sketch I did in Yosemite. We didn't have too much time to sketch because our days were so busy with hiking and checking out lakes and such! So much fun, but I'm very glad to be back to nice beds and showers!

That's about it for now... until next time folks! :)

More stuff!

More Januel drawings... keeyoooooootteee :D

Januel in watercolor!

Going to animate a walk cycle... a cool, nerdy photographer! :) I'll clean up, do more turns, and finish this sometime soon!

Some recent work

Finally got my lazy ass up and scanned a few things from my sketchbook! First here's some studies I've been doing at Stockton and in San Jose...

Jan and I sat down in the cafe of Barnes and Noble in Stockton and drew for a while. What was great was that there's a Starbucks there, and everytime a new person walked up in line I quickly drew them. I'm starting to learn how simple shapes really do give so much character of the person..plus it makes drawing them very fun!

Same thing, but I tried it with watercolor. I really like the result of this study...

This is the interior of Barnes and Noble while sitting in the cafe... gotta do more perspective studies...

A cathedral in downtown San Jose!

That's about it for studies.. for now.. Been thinking of finally animating a few things I've been putting off this summer so you'll probably see more character designs... we'll see! Stay tuned! :)

Some old stuff

Since I have't been posting in a while, i suppose I can put up some more old stuff just to fill in the space. Been pretty lazy to scan anything new, but once I do I'll be sure to post something up! Just watched Transformers yesterday and it was AWESOME!! My favorite is BubbleBee, hehe "BEE-OTCH!" hahaha! Going to work on my own Transformer for the Creation Engines blog... an AutoBot of course, maybe something cute? Or should I stick with the cool? Stay tuned! :)
