Yesterday I went to SketchCrawl in SF with Chris P and Andrea R. I had a great and relaxing time! Here are some of the sketches that came from it:

Just a little drawing

I've been playing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates on the DS lately so I decided to draw Meeth! I didn't really like her in the beginning, but as I'm playing the game I think I became quite fond of the character. Cute little bugger, ey?



I'll try to do a drawing a night, unless I get super busy. Hopefully I'll stick to it! :P

Projects from last semester

Ah I'm finally getting my lazy butt to upload these here. This is what I ended up submitting for my 115 class. It's not quite my "vision", but I did my best with the given time!


Some shots were rushed and are almost like placeholders until one day I have the knowledge and skill to animate them. This film was quite the challenge I say!

If I had more time and had more animation knowledge, I would take it to a finished level according to this animatic:


But alas life moves on and I gotta focus on the future classes.. maybe one day I will revisit it! :)



Oh, also I don't think I've ever posted this one before. This is a glance to the past. Here's a short that I did 2 years ago, Winter of 2006 I believe. It's a film I submitted for the 15-Second Film Festival. Looking at it now it sure looks crumby, haha! Nonetheless I worked hard on it at the time so I'm still happy with it! :)

As for 118 I still need to put together the new/revised shots into Premeire. When I do I'll try to add it onto this post!

Update! New Storyboards

Hello all! Yes, finally an update :P! Here is a new storyboard animatic that I did for my Storyboarding class. It's a story that I made, an adaptation of the story of Prometheus and how he gave the gift of fire to mortals. Oh, I mentioned it on a previous post huh. Here it is:

First Maya Animation!

Today I decided to sit down and try out some 3-D animation. So why not start with a ball bounce? And here it is:



Animating in Maya was a lot more fun than I expected! I'll try to animate more stuff when I get the chance. Thanks Gus for helping me navigate and teach me the graph editor and the other chart thing! :D

Animation Update

Hey all! Been busy animating this sucker and here's just an update on what I got so far:



Still all pretty rough right now and I'm getting nervous on time... 4 more weeks of school left!! Yikes!! Oh, the pressure lol! Wish me luck in finishing this film... I'll do my best!

Finally an update! (Characters and Animation)

Ah it's been a while since I updated. As Januel said... for shame! Haha. Well here's just 2 things..

For 118 we have to come up with our own story to board, so I decided to revisit the story I was developing over the summer which is Prometheus. Here's the characters I came up with:

And last but not least, finally an update on my progress for my short film. It's all super rough, and just letting you know I jumped around with the animation. It's still in chronological order, but I skipped a bunch in the middle and the end.



I really wish we had more time to work on this....I mean we only started animating like...roughly 3 weeks ago? And we only have a month left of school...omg....Man the animation is so rushed and I wish I had more time to actually think about it more. But o well....it's gotta get done nonetheless...

APE!

This post is pretty late cuz it's been a week, hehe. I went to APE (Alternative Press Expo) this year and it was pretty cool! I went on Sun Nov 2nd with Januel, Priscilla, and Nelson. I had such a great time! I got to meet Bill Presing, Ronnie Del Carmen, Daisuke Tsutsumi, Enrico Casarosa, and Louie Del Carmen. I look forward to more conventions coming up! Like WonderCon, then ComicCon, yay! Here are some of the pictures that was taken.

Night Elf

Just a little drawing I did today. Also shows how much of a nerd I am.... for those who don't know I used to play World of Warcraft back in the day... haha :).

Animatic Revised

Here's a revised version of my short story animatic. It's not the one I will go with the make the film for the semester (I won't be able to finish...only 8 weeks left of school.. wat?? Haha), but it's definitely something I will keep revising, hopefully if the shots don't change too drastically, I will add them on later after the semester is over. This is revised mainly for ACME, let's see what John Ramirez says hopefully if he gets back to me. Then I'll probably revise it again.




I'm hoping to make this a year long project in order to animate it well enough and finish it. There's just no way I can do what I want to do with it with the remaining time I have left in the semester.

Short Film Character Model Sheets!

Here are my model sheets for the character in my animated short film. They need a bit more cleaning to do....but ugh i'm soooo tired.... (it's 4:25am right now...hurray!!!...:D...)











Now to put them on a couple 11x17's and I'm ready to go for tomorrow!.....zzzzz.....

A Doodle

Here's a doodle I did the other day...



She's a reoccurring character that I draw for fun "The Magician". I guess you can say this is the style in which I draw when it's completely not related to school. I like to draw really curly and squiggly stuff haha. Very bubbly stuff too :).

The rainbow effect came from my scanner. I usually desaturate the image but I looked at it and I actually like it better this way.

Short Story Animatic Revised

Someone told me that he looked like a pet, so he's no longer in a box! Hahaha!



I'm very excited about this project. I can't wait to animate it. There's a lot of personal elements that I like in there... imagination, flying, and morphing. I hope it goes well! I'll keep updating on it!
